ring|worm «RIHNG WURM», noun.
any one of several contagious skin diseases caused by fungi. One kind appears in the form of ring-shaped patches on the skin. Ringworm of the feet is called athlete's foot. Ringworm of the scalp often occurs among schoolchildren.
